Hello again, Romy.. let me see if I can clear some of this up....
first, you are indeed correct on your horn thoughts.. but some clarification is in order...

Midbass from horn in
small room can be hugely benefited if it bounces but to make the
assembly of horns visually pleasant, time aligned and functional at the
same time is a big question. I do like the notion of Midbass fires t...

I’ve never heard of the “Hut on Fowl’s Leg” before. It is an interesting folklore tale. However, I still laugh when I see these horns. Other than being completely ridiculous in appearance, this guy didn’t even bother to time align any of the drivers....

I got this new midbass horn to replace the Edgar 80Hz straight horn. It is made by Funktion-One and they claim it plays down to 90hz. I could not get it to play below 120Hz and I am trying to figure out why.Pictures are:mouth measurements with no fil...

Keith,You would never know from the data how those upperbass driver will behave in horns. The 55Hz of air resonance (if it is true number that always not the case) is a good number for 60-70Hz horn. I really would like to know the max amount of mm th...

Last time we wrote you thought I should focus less on tweeters and more on midbass.I am not done yet, but I have found a very nice midbass solution. Somewhat unorthodox, maybe.I have come to love police sirens! Without having A/B compared it to a pai...

Today I spent many hours trying to remove large LF transformers from Melquiades belly and replace them with another one that would load my 6C33C a bit harder. I do idle my output tube very hard and my objective was to get to let it go slightly. The ...

[quote user="skushino"]Have you considered the opportunity of raising your upper bass HP crossover? How high do you plan to use your mid bass horns? If your mid bass is comfortable playing up to 280hz (or whatever the right freq is), you can use yo...

I was pointed out to the fact the Magico has a new idea of their 5 way horn-loaded speaker. I did review the Magico former 4-way project, it was very bad:

As some of your might know I am not huge in Mahler. It is not that I hate Mahler and his music but I do not like how Mahler music is customary being played. They play Mahler like it is some kind of scared porcupine, sticking out his needles; I do not...

First off, the crossover point will be 530 to 600Hz. the RES 1.5 midhigh is 16" x 8" x 10" deep.Keeping in mind, I'm trying to cover 600Hz and below... Given space constraints of a medium size basement room, I came up with 2 options.1st option is to ...

[quote user="haralanov"] Some time ago I also thought my upper bass channel is flawlessly integrated, but when I added another, symmetrically arranged UB driver (over my WR driver), I quickly understood the new configuration is MUCH more expressive a...

Jorge, that is good but a few thighs I would like to mention in this approach:
1) What you depict will work with tractrix or conical horn but not hyperbolic curve. The hyperbolic has own “swell” into exponential curve that would make it to...

[quote user="jessie.dazzle"]….. sit back and conclude that, yes, damn it, a pair of good straight Mid-Bass horns is exactly what you need. My reasons are of course somewhat selfish... as I won't like being alone in needing a non-digital delay solutio...

Hi, can you tell me(us) how much you pay'd for the mid-bass horn please? I may try this myself as I have been waiting six years now for a 15" midbass horn plan that is suitable with no luck ...thanksr weissmanps. Oh sorry I just found the price pa...

I think it's already too late for that. A man should not go around and listen to stupid horn installations which can screw him up for a life 0).Robert , can you say why 65Hz truncated tractrix and not rectangular half space hypex or expo horns if you...

[quote user="Murataltuev"]Is any

[quote user="jamikl"] My problem is the length of a mid bass horn and I can see no way of doing it other than bending it in a curve or mounting it down facing to the floor as in one you showed, or goingclosed box which I don't really want to do. I t...

Ok, it is not my mouth but the mouth of my midbass horn. It is 1:1 calculated size of 43.5Hz and we measure it against the opening space in attic, It fits perfectly and it has at least 35 feet behind for the horn neck. So, far so good…....

Romy,I actually had one of those horns, as I wrote in the first post. Edgar 80hz straight horn. I sold it long ago because I did not like the sound, no matter what amps I tried it with. The problem was, to me it sounded muddy, no matter what I tried,...

The idea of using this type of midbass horn seems good, but I don’t see a solution for time alignment of the horn with the other channels. You have a freedom to physical align it if it is placed in the same vertical plane with upperbass mouth, but th...
